Andrew Hollander is a composer, songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work spans film, television, and a diverse range of musical collaborations. He's worked extensively with HBO, having scored the Emmy-nominated It’s a Hard Truth Ain’t It, the Emmy-winning A Child’s Garden of Poetry, and Adrienne (New York Times Best of 2021 film). He has scored acclaimed films including My Friend Dahmer (“disturbingly compelling and original” – Variety), Words on Bathroom Walls (co-scored with The Chainsmokers, named one of 2020’s best scores by Film Score Magazine), Sleepwalk with Me (Sundance Audience Award winner), and Once Upon a Time in Uganda (Grand Jury Prize, DOC NYC 2021), about maverick Ugandan filmmaker Isaac Nabwana, aka “the Quentin Tarantino of Africa.” He also scored Fox Searchlight’s Waitress and co-wrote “Baby Don’t You Cry (The Pie Song)” with writer/director Adrienne Shelly, both short-listed for the Academy Award.
As a songwriter and producer, Hollander has collaborated with artists including Carly Rae Jepsen, on the end title song for the animated film Leap!, New Politics, Gaby Moreno, Brian Elmquist (The Lone Bellow), and Celine Dion (#1 album in 31 countries). He has recorded and performed with legends like Yusef Lateef, Hubert Sumlin, and Pinetop Perkins.
